Toxic Shit
Toxic Shit is an explosion of an album. It started on Monday May 8th, writing and recording the title track, and wrapped up that Friday the 12th. My mission was to get the punk rock album off my chest that had been asking for my attention for years. I surprised myself at the end of the week by writing and recording 8 songs. Clocking in at 22 minutes, Toxic Shit is to the point, and unabashed, stream of consciousness with nothing to distract. It's a dive into the lo-fi, guitar and bass blasting through my '68 Bassman-Amp, rattling my studio walls. I'm harnessing the urgency and angst of Black Flag, Gang of Four and Husker Du with the outlandishness of the Butthole Surfers. Everything here was performed by me. Jim Wilson in Longmont, Colorado mastered it. I contemplated releasing this album under a pseudonym, but in the end, I trust the muses who guided these songs through me and decided to release this under my name. I've nothing to hide. I hope you enjoy my Toxic Shit!
